I'm not sure I can say that my English is fluent, but that's my answer to the poll.

I speak English almost every day with the parents of the English pupils I have in my school... their children often speak better french than they do.

I studied English at the University, but didn't speak much... and when I began using subtitles for Stargate, I used the french ones, and it helped me understand english better at first, remembering a lot from my student years. Then I used the english ones. Now I don't need some any more, and I help producing some !

Listening to series in original version has helped me improve my english level.

I used to travel a lot (6 months in NYC and 9 months in London), so I'm pretty good in English. But I have to admit that I'm not as good as I used to be 2 years ago since I'm now living in France and I don't get to speak English a lot. Still, I understand most of the shows (except maybe ER, I definitely need subtitles for that one ). Now I have to work on my accent!!!

I learned English through TV show.

Like you, I first used french subs, then english ones, and I got to the point where I dont need them no more.

That's why I'm having such a hard time writing those post in English.

I can speak, but I dont write worth a dime.

You did see an instinctive reaction: when you're surprised you speak in your mother tongue.
I started to learn English in High School, but I have really progressed since I started to watch TV shows in original language.
I still need to live in an English-speaking environment so as to really progress.

Can you use "tongue" this way ?

Anyway.... 

I voted "Without subtitles, I don't understand much" but I can understand about 50% of an episode, 80% if I watch it a second time (and 100% with the subtitles )

If you wanna get better, you should force yourself no to watch them with the subs.

I watch them once or twice without subtitles and then I watch them with subtitles, anyway I can't wait for subtitles!! I need to watch episodes as soon as I get them.
